We learnt how to be safe when riding our bike. In class we have been attending bike safety. At school two special ladies came to teach us about bike safety. Once they had finished teaching us we had nothing to do anymore. So our teacher told us about this website called www.canva.com, I made a poster about bike safety. Here is mine.

Little Science Video

In our inquiry we were doing lots of interesting science experiments. At the end of our inquiry we got to choose an experiment and make a video showing it. I did experimenting with a boost tablet and vinegar. 

Cave Paintings

In class we learnt about cave paintings. I found this picture on CC Search. Cave paintings are made out of red ochre, green limestone and charcoal. They only drew things that they saw and kill and also hunt for. The tools that they use to create their picture was twigs, flax and feathers.

I like this art because it is colourful.
 This art work is awesome because it is 3D I think this art is made by water paint.
 This artwork is so colourful it will melt your eyes.
This car looks cool and awesome and that car looks fast.
I wonder how the artist painted this artwork. He mast be a very good person to paint this.

Chunky Chalks

My teacher read me a book it was about how to make Chunky Chalk. My favourtie part was seeing the Plaster of Paris change colour when I added dye.

Chunky Chalks

What will happen when we mix Plaster of Paris with water?

Plaster of Paris, water, bowl, spoon, measuring cups, 2 plastic bags.

  1. In a bowl tip 2 cups of Plaster of Paris and ¾ cup of water.
  2. Add some dye to colour it.
  3. Stir the mixture until there is are no lumps and it is smooth.
  4. Divide the mixture in half. Put half in one plastic bag and the other half in the other plastic bag.
  5. Take all the air out of the bag and seal it up.
  6. Put the bag on the bench and after an hour make an observation.
  7. Leave there for at least 24 hours.
  8. Open the bag and see what you can do with it.

  1. After an hour we picked up the plastic bag and it felt warm and was starting to go hard.
  2. The next day it was very hard and had formed into a shape.

Gypsum (calcium sulfate) is one of the ingredients of Plaster of Paris. Gypsum is found as a mineral rock. The calcium sulfate is bound together by water which keeps it in its solid form.
When gypsum is heated gently water is lost and the crystals become white powder. When we add water to this powder, the water recombines with the gypsum. As this happens the mixture gets hot (an exothermic chemical reaction occurs) and forms a paste which then sets hard.

The haunted horrible house was terrifying for kids. It was my house. I was out trick or treating. I went back to my house.  When I got there I heard stamping sounds. I was terrified of the sounds of the stamping. There was also scary screeching screaming sounds too.

The Marble Experiment

The Marble Experiment

Hypothesis:  The marble will change colour
and glow in the water and float.

Materials: marble, cup and water.
  1. Put some water into the cup.
  2. Put the marble into the water.
  3. Wait and watch what what happens.
1.The marble got smaller.
2.The bubbles formed around the marble and
looked like a mirror.
3.The marble became invisible.

Result: The marble went big and invisible.
You could feel it but not see it. The marble
had absorbed water.

Adaptation: Put the marble in juice to see
if it changed colour.


In class for learning we've be going on to other peoples blogs and commenting. After we finished commenting we showed a teacher to see if it is appropriate for them to read. After that we do another one for a different person to read.

It was a cold and wintery day I asked my Mum to go play outside and she said yes. I had to get my jacket first before I went to play. There was not that much snow on the grass when me, Jayden and mum went outside to play. Every house had snow on it's roof I had a big poofy jacket to keep me warm from the cold and it did.

The mud run was very fun and awesome.
It was very muddy for all of us. I couldn´t believe it until now.
Me and my friend Mack dipped our whole head under the mud. It was the most fun and gross thing ever.
Even my dad Pat came in the mud run and it was awesome.
Some people hopped out of the mud because they were tired from the mud run but me and Mack kept going.
My body was muddy but my eyes weren´t.
I can´t wait for the next mud run.

 Lucky me my wish came through,
That ball of dough was not just goo.

Our Community Walk

On Monday the class went for a walk to walk and talk about communities and personification. Then I wrote my personification for writing.The cars were winking at me. "Stop, slow, go", the lights said as the cars go by. The fence stood like an army man. The bike was farting as we go by. The houses were lying down to rest.

 Mum is happy.  She likes it when I am good.  She is kind because she gives us treats.  Mum always reads books to me at bedtime.

My Mum has blond hair.  She wears it down when she goes out with her friends at night.  At work she has it up so it looks tidy.  He eyes shine like the sun.  She is fast and good at tennis because she practices a lot.

How to make a spinning top

First I traced around the bottle top on the cardboard.
Then I cut it out.
Next I coloured it in.
After I pet 1 hole in the middle of the cardboard and the bottle top.
Soon I put the cardboard in the bottle top and through the skewer.
Lastly you play with it.

         Water experiment


  • Mug 
  • Big bowl
  • Gladwrap
  • String/rubber band
  • water
  1. Place mug inside bowl
  2. Fill bowl with water up to halfway of mug
  3. Cover the top with gladwrap and secure with string
  4. Place in a warm sunny spot under the sun.
My prediction was that the mug will fill up with water when the rain evaportes and fills the clouds and rains black down into the mug.

My prediction was correct.

The results
the sun heated the water and it evaporated up towards the glad wrap.  Condensation formed on the glad wrap.  When the water vapour became heavy it dropped into the cup, like rain.  (precipitation)

What: In maths I did my number knowledge sheet. It was fun and hard but I didn't give up. Last week we did some building art. We had to draw some patterns on our buildings and go over it with a sharpie. We learnt about the water cycle and what happens to water when it goes into the sky.

So what: I learnt that water turns into vapor and then into clouds.

Now what: My goal last week was to listen to the teacher. I did achieve this. My new goal is going to be to finish all my work on time.

What: I did basic maths test with the rest of the class. For technology I designed a key ring to be made in the 3d printer. For our TeReo lesson we coloured in a fish with koru patterns on our computer.

So What: People make lots of rubbish so I would make less rubbish.

Now What: I  have achieved my goal of listening to the teacher.  My new goal is get better at spelling.

In room 1/2, we learnt how to make structures using straws and blutak. In my group was Blake, Miller, Rajveet and me.  We had to make it as strong as possible. We made it standup by sticking it to the table with blutak which gave it support. It was still leaning a bit so tried to hold it up with support beams. After we did this, it was much stronger.

 What: Last week we did maths and we did the maths sheet. We had popcorn and popcorn is tasty. We had to write words to describe it. I thought of tasty and yummy. We went for a run around the school to get some fresh air.

So What: Last week I learnt how to use popplet to make a presentation.

Now What: My goal last week was to listen to the teacher. I have achieved this goal. My new goal this week is to help people with their handwriting.

Weekly Reflection T2W3

What: We started our new art. We drew a wonky buildings. We made poppies to tell people about Anzac Ted. Anzac Ted is a bear that went to war. We played dodge ball against Room 14. Our team won.

So What: Last week I learnt that teddy bears can go to war.

Now What: My goals was to get better at spelling. I need to still work on this.
